My Twenty Years of Club Projects

Group 25 is a dedicated set of auto scale model enthusiasts, focused mainly on 1:25 scale but interested in anything with wheels and a motor. 

 

Our recently-elected newsletter editor, Peter McDonald, reminded us that 2006 marks the twentieth running of the "Group 25 Club Project".

 

This tradition has given me an annual opportunity to contemplate converting something into a station wagon.  Overall, I’ve had a mediocre conversion rate (about seven of twenty), but I did manage to complete eighteen challenges in various ways and did a lot of collateral damage along the way.

 

I’ve tried something new with every club project. Sometimes the technique worked, sometimes not.  I had fun, though, and to reflect on this, here are all the ugly details.
