Revell tooled up a very nice coupe that
even had the correct proportions at the back, unlike all of the previous AMT releases.
I took the opportunity to convert this one back to stock, including a detailed flathead V-8 and extensive research
on the correct wheel and body colours.
Note my second
(and better) attempt at real wire wheels. I machined the rim halves from copper
rod and re-used a wiring jig I had made previously for a ’32 Ford Phaeton that was built in a Group 25 “Kit Exchange”. Soldering the rims together over the wires worked well. I also did up a red set done in brass, waiting patiently for the next ’32 Ford project.
